Hello all you wonderful Silver Screen Ballroom dancers and wannabeez. Welcome as we take the first step of our dancing blog.

Great class again last night. So good to see all of you regulars and those of you who had been away the last couple of weeks. For those of you who didn't notice we had a walk in. A nice fella who peeked in from the main ballroom and couldn't help jumping in. He was nervous at first as he watched our regulars sailing through the first song, but soon he was smiling and I just want to thank everyone for being so good and patient with him in his first effort with Silver Screen Ballroom.

A quick recap: We introduced (I think for the first time for most of you) the moves from hustle, which when danced in the style of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, is every bit the fun look and feel for thrilling social dancing. And we also learned, in the last ten minutes, the open right turn. A great step combination for sailing around the entire dance floor or just getting around the other dancers who share the floor with us at social events. (Some of these couples might be "plugs" though you find "plugs" more often on the streets of NY and in the subways. Keep watches our blog pages for more on how dancing helps you survive the streets of NYC and what is a "Plug".)

Happy Dancing,

Lou & Heather
